The Internet would truly be boring and inconvenient if all we could access are static text documents. This might be true during the development stage of the Internet. The Internet evolved from the ARPANET which is originally a Defense Department project of connecting computers nationwide to make it less vulnerable to nuclear attack. Today, however, the Internet is not anymore limited for military of academic use. The Internet is now available for commercial use. Hence, it is necessary for its contents to be more user-friendly and inter-active. Thanks to JavaScript which made it possible for web page to be interactive. Most web pages have interactive features such as pull-down menu and animation.
